Care of the dogs

Veterinary care

Each dog that is put into care and into training goes through many regular veterinary checks from the time they are pups to the time the dog is handed over. The health status of all our puppies and young dogs from 8 weeks to at least 18 months is under the supervision of the veterinary doctor MVDr. Zbyněk Lonský

Each exchanged and trained dog has a complete veterinary prevention and care which is documented by:

  • Vaccination certificate (veterinary certificate) – vaccinations records, all regular treatments against parasites, and castration.
  • • Documentation of all checkups of hip and elbow joints - the evaluation is done by a specialised orthopedic, the inspector of displaced hip and elbow joints in official breeding - MVDr. Milan Snášil, CSc.
  • Document of checked eyes - provided by specialist for eye diseases - MVDr. Jiří Beránek
  • Document of laboratory inspection of blood and faeces - Analytical Laboratory Plzeň a.s
  • The health status of the dog is documented and verified by veterinary verification and the current health status of the dog (verification and abilities of the guide dog) and the health card, in which a documentation of any illness is that may have occurred during training.

Diet and food

Taking into consideration the important mission of these trained dogs, it is necessary to have a diet of a high quality for each dog from the youngest of ages. We assure each dog’s food by using quality-granulated foods, which are correlated with the age and breed group of all trained dogs.

A big thank goes to the firm Placek who secured the food
